Other Online Gambling
Well, we’ve mentioned online bingo (my favorite!) and online casinos, but let’s not stop there — there’s still a few more stops on the online gambling express…
…such as online poker. Yep, it wouldn’t be my personal first choice, because I’ve never quite understood the game, but a lot of people I know are really, really into it. To be fair, I suppose that the success of online poker is what led to so many other forms of online gambling popping up, and evolving into the high quality that we see today.
Online poker seems to be be mainly about Texas Hold’em, but most of the online poker rooms offer other games too (you can pretty much count on Omaha Hold’em and 7 card stud, and most of the good online poker rooms offer a few other choices as well). They also tend to offer other games — most even have a full-featured online casino USA attached!
And even I have to admit, I had fun the one or two times I played. I’m sure everybody could tell that I was a beginner, but that’s one of the best things about playing online instead of at a casino or a friends’ house…there’s so many players online that you can easily find people in your general skill level, and you just feel a lot more comfortable picking up all the things that you need to know as you go.
The other major kind of online gambling is even farther away from my own personal experience: onlien sports betting. Okay, so I’m not really a sporty type of girl. Like the old joke goes, someone threw me a football once and I tried to dribble it.
Nevertheless, I can tell just by looking at some of these online sportsbooks that guys (and gals) who are into sports are going to have a great time. There are plenty of bets on sports that I didn’t even know existed, and some of these places even have bets on things like TV shows, celebrity gossip, and politics.
In fact, these are the things that I gravitate to, so that’s how I tried out the sportsbooks (plus, both poker sites and sportsbooks usually have online slots, so I win either way!). I guess I didn’t get the full experience, because I didn’t actually bet on a ‘sport’, but I found out enough to make me even more curious. Sigh, I guess this means that I’m gonna have to learn football jargon…
